About GLPsteady

Eating well on a GLP-1 should not be guesswork

Millions of Americans now take Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro or one of the new GLP-1 pills. Most were handed a prescription and a pharmacy printout, and very little about what to eat, when, and what to do when the side effects start. GLPsteady exists to fill that gap: plain, practical eating guidance for the medication you actually take, free, and independent of any program.

Who we are

GLPsteady is built by the team behind HappyHealthy.nl, a European nutrition publisher founded in the Netherlands in 2010. For sixteen years we have built nutrition programs, apps and books for people who want to lose weight and keep it off: more than 150,000 people read our nutrition emails, more than 500 new readers join every day, and our books have sold more than 100,000 copies. GLPsteady is our first site built specifically for people on GLP-1 medication, and the first in English.

We are a publisher, not a medical provider. We do not prescribe, we do not sell medication, and nothing on this site replaces the clinician who prescribes yours. Our guides are written from the prescribing information of each medication and from published dietitian guidance for GLP-1 patients, and every guide and plan is reviewed before publication.

The people

Oscar Helmstäter

Co founder · editorial review

Diet psychologist and bestselling author. Oscar wrote the nutrition programs behind more than 100,000 books sold, and HappyHealthy.nl, the site he co founded, was voted Website of the Year in the wellbeing and fitness category six years in a row in the Netherlands. He reviews every guide and eating plan on GLPsteady before it goes live, with one question: would this hold up in front of a patient and their clinician?

Jonathan Schokker

Co founder · product

Jonathan has built online nutrition programs since 2010 and runs the product side of GLPsteady: the two minute quiz, the eating plans per medication, the cost comparison and the weekly companion email. His rule for the site is that every page has to be useful to someone who never signs up for anything.

The companion

Most people on a GLP-1 are on their own between visits. The GLPsteady companion is a free weekly email that follows your dose instead of the calendar: what to eat in the week after an increase, what to do when a side effect comes back, how to protect muscle as the weight comes off, and when a price change makes it worth comparing programs. It starts with a seven day eating plan written for your medication, built from your quiz answers or from the guide you signed up on. One email a week, unsubscribe any time.

How we make money

Some weight loss programs pay us a commission when you sign up through a link on this site. That is how GLPsteady is funded and how the guides, the quiz and the companion stay free. Three rules keep it honest:

Every sponsored link is marked. On the costs pages, in the quiz result and in emails. If it is not marked, it is not sponsored.

We only link to programs that prescribe FDA-approved medication. No compounded or unapproved products, whatever they would pay.

The guides never change based on who pays. Commissions decide nothing about what we tell you to eat, and a program cannot buy a better review.

How we choose our pick

On the costs page one program is marked as our pick, above the list that is sorted by price. That is an editorial choice, not the highest commission, and we review it every quarter against five criteria:

FDA-approved medication only, with the newer options available: the Wegovy pill, Zepbound, Foundayo.

Transparent regular pricing. We judge on the price you pay in month three, not the first month offer.

Clinician follow up included, so side effects and dose steps are handled by someone who can act on them.

Insurance and Medicare accepted for the visits where possible, because coverage is the biggest cost lever for most people. Medication coverage always depends on your own plan.

A track record with the manufacturers. Recognized partnerships with Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly tell us the supply is real.

The current pick is LifeMD. If a program comes to beat it on these criteria, the pick changes, and we say so.

What we do not do

No before and after photos, and no testimonials we have not verified ourselves.

No claims that a compounded product equals an approved medication, and no promotion of Ozempic or Mounjaro for weight loss; those are approved for type 2 diabetes.

No sharing of your health information with programs or advertisers. What you tell the quiz stays with us. See the privacy policy.

No medical advice. When a question needs a clinician, we say so, and we tell you when to call.
