Foundayo eating plan

A spinach omelet, a cup of coffee, a glass of water and a plain tablet on a small dish on a breakfast table

Short version

Foundayo is a daily GLP-1 pill from Eli Lilly, approved in 2026. Unlike the Wegovy pill it has no empty stomach rule according to the information published at launch, so you can build your meals around your day instead of around the dose. The effect is steady rather than peaking, which makes consistency the whole game: the same small protein meals every day, not a good week and a bad week.

How the pill behaves in your body

Orforglipron is a GLP-1 receptor agonist in tablet form, taken once a day. Because you dose daily, the level in your blood stays roughly even, so there are no peak days after a shot. Side effects appear as a steady background in the first weeks of each dose and then fade.

Doses step up roughly every four weeks through several levels to your maintenance dose. Each step can bring a queasier week or two. Your clinician sets the pace, and a slower step up is a normal request.

Your day, every day

Pill timeSame time each day, with or without food according to the launch information. Breakfast is a natural anchor.
BreakfastProtein first, small: an omelet, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese. Coffee is fine.
Through the dayThree small meals plus a protein snack, fluids between meals, stop at first fullness.
EveningEat early, stay upright for two hours, a walk or a short strength session.

The daily rules

Consistency over intensity. With a daily pill the same pattern every day beats a strict week followed by a loose one.

Protein first, 25 to 30 grams per meal. Eggs, yogurt, fish, chicken, tofu, beans, a shake when needed.

Three small meals plus one or two protein snacks. Long gaps bring nausea and fatigue even without a peak day.

64 to 80 oz of fluid, sipped through the day.

Low fat in the first two weeks of each dose, then add richer food back slowly.

Two strength sessions a week, any days you like.

Common questions

Do I have to take Foundayo on an empty stomach?

Foundayo has no empty stomach rule like the Wegovy pill, according to the information published at launch. Follow your own Medication Guide; if it says otherwise, that wins.

Is Foundayo the same as Zepbound in a pill?

No. Zepbound is tirzepatide, which works on two gut hormones. Foundayo is orforglipron, a GLP-1 only pill. Both come from Eli Lilly, but they are different molecules with different dose ladders.

Why do I feel a bit off every day instead of some days?

That is the daily rhythm. A pill gives a steady level, so side effects show up as a background in the first weeks of each dose rather than as peak days. Smaller, lower fat meals and steady fluids flatten it.

What time of day should I take it?

Pick a time you will not forget and keep it. Many people choose breakfast. Your Medication Guide and your clinician have the final word.

When to call your clinician

Vomiting for more than 24 hours, or not being able to keep fluids down

Severe or persistent abdominal pain, with or without vomiting, which can signal pancreatitis

Signs of dehydration: dizziness, very dark urine, not urinating

Side effects that do not ease at all after four weeks on the same dose. A slower step up is a normal thing to ask for.
